its business into a major participant for the provision of drilling services to the mining and infrastructure sectors while still maintaining its heritage and customer service focus.
Formed in 2008 through the consolidation of five well-established drilling companies Gorey and Cole, Nudrill, Sides Drilling Contractors, and the subsequent addition of Colby Drilling and Peak Drilling Services, ADS has become a new force in technical drilling.
The result of this consolidation is a group with a long and successful history in the Australian drilling landscape.
ADS now offer water bore and dewatering capabilities to the mineral sector with the added capability of diamond and coring services.
In addition to this, the company supplies RC drilling to iron ore and other mineral mining companies.
With its specialisation in near shore and offshore geo-technical drilling using a fleet of road transportable jack-up barges, ADS provides the full suite of drilling solutions to its mining, oil and gas and infrastructure clients.
This strong combination brings together a broad technical capability and a fleet of modern drill rigs that provides a unique service offering.
Its fleet boasts the introduction to the Australian market of the Fraste 400, the first diamond drill with dedicated automated handlers for both the rod and inner tubes.
Due to demand, another new Fraste FS 250 Core drill was added in October bringing the ADS Fraste fleet to 5 including 4 crawler mounted rigs.
ADS’ operations span Australia-wide and into the Pacific, where it utilises its long-term experience and knowledge to quickly and efficiently mobilise a drilling solution to meet customers’ needs across many varied and difficult to access locations.
The company believes customers choose ADS because of its excellent reputation, availability and rigorous attention to safety.
This has included the establishment of a set of group-wide safety standards and an integrated incident recording and reporting system.
ADS chief executive officer Bill Cook said the commitment to safety was a core value for the company.
“Our new system ensures visibility at all levels of any safety related issues and facilitates the sharing of best practice learning,” Mr Cook said.
The approach for the company is straightforward in using its proven practical innovation expertise to fashion efficient and effective solutions for its customers and to manage the knowledge across ADS’ diverse group to improve customer results.
