Gorey & Cole Drillers Pty Ltd was established in Alice Springs in 1946 by A.J. Gorey (Ginty) and J.P Cole (Sandy).  Having been in operation for over 60 years, the company has gained a wealth of valuable experience and knowledge in the drilling industry and is regarded as one of the longest serving and leading drilling companies in Australia.

Gorey & Cole’s main objective is to conduct all drilling programs professionally and efficiently with safety being of paramount importance.  In addition, Gorey and Cole continually endeavours to upgrade equipment with the main focus being on improving safety.

The company owns a range of drilling rigs capable of carrying out a variety of tasks from RAB and Geotechnical programs to RC and Diamond Core drilling through to large diameter and deep hole Production/dewatering bores and test pumping programs including mine backfill drilling.

Gorey & Cole’s head office is based in Alice Springs.  In July 2004 the company took over the operations of Stanley Drilling Company based in Perth.  This expanded its Drill Rig capacity to 10 drillings rigs.

Stanley Drilling Company, founded in 1971with its head office in Perth, has over 35 years drilling experience throughout Australia and overseas.  Stanley’s core business revolves around specialised mineral exploration drilling contracts with the extra advantage being the ability to conduct water drilling programs with its modern fleet of multipurpose drilling rigs.

Gorey & Cole currently employs over 50 staff with drillers licensed to drill and construct water bores in the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.  The current Owner/Director Vivian Oldfield and Manager Craig Oldfield have been employed by Gorey & Cole Drillers for over 30 years.
