Sides deliver programmes in the following sectors: energy (oil & gas, coal bed methane, geothermal), minerals exploration (mud rotary), construction/foundation, water well, marine (near shore & offshore) geotechnical, mining infrastructure and marine infrastructure.
Services
- Contract drilling for water, oil, gas and mineral exploration to 2000 metres
- Marine geotechnical drilling for port developments including, piling, dredging and civil works in coastal areas and open seas
- Hire of stable jack up drilling rigs or self elevating platforms for construction
- Economical raise drill pilot holes, stope or paste fill holes, ventilation and escape ways without the need for costly directional drilling or multi-pass reaming
- Hard rock drilling to one (1) metre using Australia's largest conventional and reverse circulation hammers
- Gang hammer systems
- Mud Rotary, RC with water or air, casing design and installation and high pressure grouting
- Rock sockets for piles, onshore and offshore
- Drilling and casing through collapsed mine shafts to dewater workings in old mines
- Work over, development or abandonment of oil, gas, coal bed methane, artesian and geothermal wells using fibreglass or steel relining and grout sealing casing
- In house capability to design and manufacture special purpose drilling rigs
- AS/NZS 4801 and AS/NZS14001 compliant safety and environmental management systems

Managing Director
A mining engineer with over ten years experience in commercial management in underground and surface gold, nickel and coal mining sectors in Australia, Indonesia and the construction sector in the United Kingdom. Graham has spent the last four years with Sides Engineering Pty Ltd as the Contracts Manager and then Commercial Director before completing the merger with Australian Drilling Solutions.
Jim Polizos
Director – Operations & Business Development
A qualified mechanic with over 25 years experience in the drilling industry and running small to medium companies. Jim was previously the General Manager and Managing Director.
Chris Pugsley
Project Support Manager
With over 25 years experience in the drilling industry, Chris is responsible for providing day to day operational support to all site teams, including procurement, logistics and coordination of field maintenance support.
